About Make-A-Wish®

Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina seeks to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses at a time when they need it most. We believe that a wish is a necessary part of the medical treatment journey, improves the odds of survival, provides a support system and better health outcomes, and gives the child a better chance of recovering from their critical illness. Spanning from Alamance County to the westernmost part of North Carolina, our chapter serves 51 counties and has granted more the 5,500 wishes since our founding in 1985. Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina operates locally which allows all funds donated to the chapter to stay within our communities to help grant wishes for local Central and Western North Carolina children. These vital funds directly contribute to granting the wishes of over 400 children as the average cost of a wish has risen in 2023 to $7,500.
